Location: Preferably in Panama. Good candidates in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia, or Peru might be considered.
As a key member of the civil society strengthening program, the child rights specialist will coordinate with civil society organizations and strategic partners and support internal and external communication in joint advocacy initiatives and events. The incumbent will draft joint press releases and ensure a child rights approach to all documents and initiatives. The work will focus primarily, but not exclusively, on ensuring civic space for child rights organizations and children themselves and ensuring authentic child participation in advocacy opportunities.

Excellent Spanish and strong English language skills
Willingness to travel in LAC countries
5-7 years of experience in the field of child rights, advocacy, working with civil society and networks.
Excellent writing skills with proven experience writing reports, proposals and other documentation relevant to the work of SCI.
Culturally sensitive, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including listening, influencing and negotiation.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
Very organized and able to keep track and of and make progress on multiple priorities/ fronts.
Excellent at meeting deadlines.
Skilled at working and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.
Self-motivated, high-energy, excellent people-skills.
