Annual Community Volunteers Event 2014

In honor of the International Day of Volunteers, Save the Children celebrated on December 5th, the 2014 Community Volunteers Annual Event, an activity that met over 250 people from Ahuachapan, Sonsonate and La Paz department.

The event highlighted the work this women and men do in their own communities, by implementing the First Steps to Success Program, a group of community services that support children and adolescents to fully develop from the pregnancy period and up to their adolescence.

The volunteers were able to participate of an accountability session, where achievements and coverage of the program were shared, additionally, vocational workshops in different areas were provided in order to train them on new skills and generate an alternative income source in their communities.

 

Words from the renowned spokesperson and ex-volunteer for Red Cross in El Salvador, Mr. Carlos López was one of the most inspiring moments of the event.
